The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is one of the nine functional commissions of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Dedicated to achieving gender equality globally at a faster pace, the body holds a series of international conferences every year. The conference for 2022 was held under the theme of "achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes". In 2019, Beijing Changier Education Foundation obtained ECOSOC special consultative status. It bid for and hosted the themed side events during the 66th session of CSW, showing the world that Beijing-based social organizations have actively participated in global governance and shared China's insight at the UN, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility. The events have also advanced China-US as well as China-Africa cooperation on the protection of women's rights and interests as well as on AIDS prevention and treatment in the private sector.
