Following the Chinese New Year, Beijing has seen a rebound in trips abroad for work, study, travel, and business. To ensure the safety of Beijing citizens abroad and a good start for the year, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has organized several "Consular Protection for All" series activities, delivering "knowledge package" and "toolbox" for overseas safety and emergency response to communities, enterprises, and relevant institutions.

Tailor-made lectures for enterprises going global

With over 80,000 domestic and foreign enterprises gathered in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), raising awareness of safety risk prevention and enhancing the ability to deal with emergencies during overseas stays is a significant concern for both enterprises and employees.

During the "Consular Protection for All" activity in the BDA, overseas safety experts were invited to give lectures on various measures to address common safety risks such as terrorist attacks, personal injury, and telecom fraud for hundreds of employees. The lectures offered feasible and practical measures to ensure that all participants could understand and use the knowledge effectively.

Consular protection services in communities

In recent years, there has been a surge in overseas security incidents such as telecom fraud, theft, robbery, attacks, and arson. The Beijing Foreign Affairs Office organized visits to Huguosi Community in Xicheng District, Xiangyang Community in Mentougou District, Nancheng Community in Huairou District, and Qinshanshuibei Community in Shijingshan District. Experts on overseas consular protection and safety addressed topics such as prevention and response to overseas risks, knowledge of overseas safety, and identification and prevention of telecom fraud. Through various forms including safety-themed lectures, emergency skills demonstrations, and educational videos, residents were enabled to enhance their awareness of overseas safety, enrich their knowledge of overseas safety, and strengthen their risk prevention measures. The event was well received with active interaction between residents and experts.
