The Innovation Service Center of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone in the Daxing International Airport Economic Zone opened on February 8, 2021. It is the first project to be put into operation in the Daxing Airport Area of the China (Hebei) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The center will primarily house companies in the fields of financial services and life and health, and provide services including industrial promotion, financial innovation, innovation demonstration, exhibition of plans and other relevant services to improve the business environment, attract high-caliber talents, improve services and prepare for future land use.

The Innovation Service Center is located at Ligezhuang, Lixian Town of Daxing District, which is close to Beijing Daxing International Airport. Consisting of two sections, the center covers 5.61 hectares and has a total construction area of 73,000 square meters. The construction started in April 2020 and the main structure was completed in late August 2020. Decoration and landscaping were completed in November 2020.

The outer walls of the center use polycarbonate sheets which allow abundant natural light penetration. A naturally lit indoor environment helps create a productive, healthy and positive work atmosphere. For carbon emission reduction and energy conservation, the local authority worked together with State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company and established a multi-purpose energy station in the Innovation Service Center, which integrates ground source heat pumps, rooftop photovoltaic power stations among other systems, and achieved intensive control and complementation of multiple energy sources such as electricity, refrigeration, heat and solar energy. It is estimated that the center can save 300 tons of standard coal annually.

The Innovation Service Center is an innovation-based low-density international business community, with office buildings as the mainstay and supplemented by space for commercial exhibitions and apartments. Enterprises in the center will benefit from favorable policies, including those related to free trade, sci-tech innovation policies in Zhongguancun, further opening-up of Beijing’s services sector, and the “1+N” policy package in Daxing District.
