The 2026 Beijing Green Innovative Technology Exchange Meeting, co-hosted by the Beijing Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Center (BEEC) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), was held at the China National Convention Center on May 9. Themed “Sharing Green Technologies, Promoting International Cooperation”, the meeting focused on advancing in-depth integration of innovative green technologies with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and fostering practical international exchanges and cooperation in the sector. More than 130 representatives from government departments, international organizations, research institutes, industry associations, and key enterprises in the green and low-carbon sector attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the Beijing Reference Catalogue of Green Technology Export Products (2026), jointly compiled by CCPIT Beijing, the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, and BEEC, was released. The catalogue includes green energy, energy conservation and environmental protection technologies from 43 enterprises since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, mainly drawn from the Beijing Catalogue of Recommended Energy-Saving Technologies and Products and the Beijing Catalogue of Recommended Advanced Green and Low-Carbon Technologies, providing systematic and clear guidance for green technology enterprises to “go global”.
Focusing on green transition, Beijing is stepping up efforts to build itself into a global pacesetter in the green economy. In 2025, this initiative got underway: the city recorded 70,000 valid green technology invention patents, ranking first in China; revenue from key green economy industries exceeded RMB 1.8 trillion; major events such as the World Gas Conference (WGC) and the Beijing Green Development Forum were successfully held; and a number of international organizations and platforms were established in Beijing. As the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, 2026 will see Beijing’s accelerated shift from controlling energy consumption and intensity to controlling the total amount and intensity of carbon emissions, as the city advances energy conservation, carbon reduction and green transition in a coordinated manner. Greater efforts will be made to promote energy-saving and low-carbon technologies, equipment and products, actively develop the model of using green energy to produce green products, and bring the overall green transition in socio-economic development to a new level.
Signing ceremonies were held for four key cooperation projects that support Beijing’s green technologies in “going global”. The projects cover areas such as biomass gasification and utilization, low-carbon and intelligent upgrading of SCG’s commercial operations in Thailand, and intelligent heating system renovation, with a total value of RMB 55.8 million. Among them, the cooperation between Jinjieli Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (GoldGinny) and Thailand’s SCG Group on intelligent operation and maintenance of commercial chilled water stations will help build end-to-end capabilities covering monitoring system integration, load forecasting, operational strategy recommendations, and remote management, effectively promoting the application of Beijing’s green technologies in overseas markets.
Experts discussed new opportunities for green technologies to “go global”. During the keynote speech session, Wang Jilong, Director of the Planning and Policy Department of BEEC, provided an overview of the phased achievements and subsequent key tasks of Beijing’s efforts to build itself into a global pacesetter in the green economy, providing clear guidance for enterprises to navigate policy directions. Yang Pingjian, Research Fellow at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, elaborated from the perspective of national strategy on the top-level logic and strategic opportunities for China’s green technologies to “go global” under the new framework for controlling the total amount and intensity of carbon emissions during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Chen Gesong, Director General of Development at the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, shared insights on how to leverage Beijing’s advantages to support its green innovative technologies in “going global”.
Leading enterprises shared on cutting-edge green technologies. During the technology sharing session, representatives from five technology enterprises presented the latest achievements in the green and low-carbon sector. Beijing ENN Fusion Energy Technology Co., Ltd. shared advances in research on magnetic confinement fusion energy technology. Carbonstop (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. introduced cutting-edge applications of AI in reshaping carbon management models. First New Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. explained the core technologies and practical applications of self-cleaning radiative cooling coatings. Beijing KMY Thermal Energy Technology Co., Ltd. presented a new method for converting flue gas into syngas. Yuanchu Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. shared its CCUS-based technology for solid waste utilization coupled with CO2 mineralization.
The meeting built a high-standard international platform for cooperation in innovative green technologies, fully demonstrating the competitiveness and international application prospects of Beijing’s green technologies. Going forward, the host organizations will actively advance international green cooperation. Through multiple channels, including targeted promotion, economic and trade activities, and the reception of domestic and overseas delegations, they will promote the Beijing Reference Catalogue of Green Technology Export Products (2026) to overseas trade institutions and enterprises, and take practical steps to advance Beijing’s green industry cooperation with foreign partners and the implementation of related projects.
