On August 10, a U.S. delegation from the Oregon Rhythmic Gymnastics & Dance Academy visited Shougang Park to engage in rhythmic gymnastics exchanges with athletes from the Aurora International Sports Training Center.
Under the guidance of the coaching staff, young gymnasts from China and the U.S. conducted joint training covering basic posture, body waves, and apparatus manipulation.

During the performances, Chinese gymnasts from the Aurora International Sports Training Center presented intricate spins and balance elements infused with Eastern aesthetic of unity of strength and softness. Meanwhile, American athletes from the Oregon Rhythmic Gymnastics & Dance Academy impressed the audience with expressive choreography, highlighting a harmonious blend of athletic competition and artistic expression.

Young athletes from the two countries encouraged and inspired one another through technical exchanges, with applause echoing throughout the venue.

Youngsters from Shijingshan District performed Shaolin Eight-Method Boxing, a local intangible cultural heritage. Their performance of Charm of Western Beijing Martial Arts was full of vigor, with powerful movements earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Under the guidance of martial arts instructors, young members of the Oregon Rhythmic Gymnastics & Dance Academy delegation carefully learned each stance and movement, gaining insight into the subtlety and balance of Chinese martial arts.

The delegation also visited iconic sites at Shougang Park, including Big Air Shougang, with great interest. They experienced the commercial vitality and cultural creativity of the Yongding River Market, and explored Beijing’s sustainable post-Olympic heritage utilization and urban renewal practices as reflected in the harmonious integration of modern design, industrial heritage, and natural ecology.

Young people from the two countries have bonded with each other through sports and deepened mutual understanding through cultural exchanges. As ambassadors of China-U.S. friendship, they are using their youthful vitality to continue writing a new chapter in people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
