In 2025, Beijing continued to explore new ideas and methods in people-to-people diplomacy, making positive contributions to serving China’s overall diplomacy, supporting the capital’s high-quality development, and promoting people-to-people connectivity between China and the rest of the world. At the 2026 Meeting on People-to-People Diplomacy of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, a number of high-performing organizations shared their experiences. Today, let us take you through the inspiring journey of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation and explore the unique appeal of people-to-people diplomacy.

A 5A-rated social organization supervised by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation was founded in 2014, holding Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). To date, the foundation has established 1,416 Youth Love Hubs and 221 Maternal Love Academies across China, through which it carries out a wide range of programs on youth health promotion and family education guidance. In recent years, the foundation has extended its public welfare initiatives to the international stage, showcasing the compassion and commitment of Beijing’s non-governmental philanthropic sector.

01 Making Beijing’s Voice Heard and Experience Shared on the International Stage

Since 2017, the foundation has been participating in multilateral forums, including sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Human Rights Council (HRC), and the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), advocating for youth health and the rights and interests of women and children. The foundation’s proposals, including one on educational resource sharing, were incorporated into the final document of the 2025 BRICS Civil Forum. In 2026, the foundation made two interventions during the Human Rights Council sessions.

02 Strengthening People-to-People Connectivity Through Livelihood Cooperation Projects

Since 2021, the foundation has been donating supplies and providing health education services to Madagascar, Bahrain, Cambodia, among other countries, supporting HIV/AIDS prevention and control and health education efforts in developing countries. The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain sent a letter expressing appreciation to the foundation and conveying its hope for further cooperation.

In 2025, the foundation established a Maternal Love Academy in Indonesia and launched projects focused on women’s economic empowerment and children’s education.

03 Promoting Chinese Culture Through International Partnership Networks

In 2026, the foundation will implement the project “Changier Silk Road · Soft Connectivity: China-Africa Youth Humanistic Care Action along the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway”, which has been selected in the list of flagship events for the “China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges”. The foundation will also work with Malaysian universities to promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Malaysian cultures.
