Recently, Beijing Customs District revealed that Beijing Daxing International Airport has been vigorously promoting its international through check-in service, allowing passengers traveling on connecting international flights to complete check-in and baggage drop in one go. This initiative enables a more convenient travel experience for cross-border tourism and business. In 2025, Beijing Daxing International Airport Customs oversaw a total of 13,920 international through check-in flight movements.
“This trip to China has been such a delightful surprise!” exclaimed a Russian traveler, transiting through Beijing to Sanya, Hainan, after two years away. She found that her checked baggage could now be sent directly to her destination—without the need to reclaim it or go through security again—making her journey much more convenient. What she experienced is precisely the international through check-in service provided by Beijing Daxing International Airport. This service allows passengers to complete check-in for their entire journey at the departure airport, with their baggage transported straight to the destination, enabling seamless baggage transfer.
As of now, four airlines—China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and China United Airlines—have been approved to provide international through check-in services at Beijing Daxing International Airport, bringing the total number of such routes to 100. In addition, China Eastern Airlines and China United Airlines have received approval to launch Beijing’s first cross-airline international and domestic through check-in services at Daxing Airport. To date, 27 cross-airline international through check-in routes have been launched, covering destinations in Europe, East Asia, South Asia, as well as Hong Kong and Macao SARs.
Customs supervision and services play a pivotal role as Daxing Airport expands international through check-in service to enhance its capacity as an aviation hub. Beijing Daxing International Airport Customs, under the Beijing Customs District, has implemented multiple measures to facilitate through check-in operations. Notably, the introduction of “convertible stands” has significantly enhanced flight operation efficiency.
Under this model, a single aircraft can quickly switch between international and domestic operations. After international passengers arrive at a contact stand and complete immigration clearance, the aircraft can be reassigned for a domestic departure without the need for towing. Likewise, a domestic flight, once cleared at the gate, can directly board international passengers for departure. This shortens turnaround times, allowing more passengers to board and disembark conveniently via the jet bridge.
“Since piloting the ‘convertible stands’ facilitation measure, we have supported the airport in putting two such stands into operation, serving a cumulative total of more than 700,000 inbound and outbound passengers,” said Zhao Zhao, Deputy Director of Beijing Daxing International Airport Customs.
