Beijing Capital International Airport’s Annual Passenger Trips Expected to Exceed 70 Million

In recent years, Beijing Capital International Airport has continued to expand its route network to covermore international and regional destinations, providing solid support for cross-border travel. In 2025, buoyed by a range of favorable national policies and Beijing’s strong appeal, the airport’s core aviation business maintained sound growth. Total annual flights are projected to reach 430,000, with passenger volume projected to exceed 70 million.

Since the beginning of this year, the airport has worked closely with airlines to launch or increase flights withmultiple international destinations,such as Malé, Oslo, Phnom Penh, and Moscow, offering passengers a wider range of higher-quality travel options. To date, Beijing Capital International Airport’s route network spans 225 destinations in 57 countries, including 97 international and regional destinations. The number of intercontinental destinations has risen to 52, ranking first nationwide.

An official of Beijing Capital International Airport said that, leveraging its strategic location in the northern Asia-Pacific region, the airport will continue to expand its route network. Plans include welcoming new airlines, launching flights to new popular destinations such as Abu Dhabi and Tbilisi, and increasing flight frequencies to cities like Brussels and Munich. By capitalizing on visa-free entry policies, the airport aims to strengthen its links with the European market. International and regional passenger throughput is expected to reach a new milestone in 2026.
