On the morning of September 30, the 6th Beijing Overseas Chinese “Jinghua Award” ceremony was held. Yin Li, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, delivered a speech. Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing, and You Jun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended the event.
Yin Li congratulated the recipients and expressed sincere gratitude to all overseas Chinese nationals and returned overseasChinese, as well as compatriots in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, who have long beencaring for and supporting the development of Beijing. He noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to work related to overseas Chinese, and places ardentexpectations on them, emphasizing the need to maintain extensive contacts with overseas Chinese nationals, returnedoverseas Chinese and their relatives,and join hands with them for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Over the years, overseas Chinese nationals and returned overseasChinese have worked diligently and made devoted contributions in their respective fields, putting tremendous effort into promoting economic and social development, strengthening international exchanges and cooperation, and advancing national reunification. They have contributed significantly to the development of the capital and demonstrated the deep bonds of shared heritage and a patriotic spirit of standing together through thick and thin.
Yin Li pointed out that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The CPC Central Committee held a grand commemorative event in Beijing, which vividly illustrated China’s national and military strength, greatly inspired patriotism among the Chinese people, and widely galvanized a united force for striving forward. He expressed the hope that overseas Chinese nationals and returned overseas Chinese, as well as Hong Kong and Macao compatriots, will keep pace with the times, embrace the aspiration for a stronger nation, and act on their patriotic commitment, contributing wisdom and strength to the modernization of the country and the capital. He called on everyone to safeguard the overall interests of the Chinese nation, uphold patriotism, reinforce the sense of the Chinese nation as one community, and make greater contributions to advancing the cause of “one country, two systems” and realizingnational reunification. Yin Li also emphasized the importance of supporting Beijing’s development initiatives, actively participating in establishing Beijing as a global innovation center, a global leader in the digital economy, and a high-level talent hub, so as to inject stronger momentum into the capital’s high-quality development and high-standard opening up. He encouraged everyone to increase confidence in our own culture, promote China’s fine traditional culture, tell the stories of China and Beijing well, and play a greater role in promoting mutual learning between China and the rest of the world and in building a community with a shared future for humanity. The CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality will, as always, attach great importance to overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, and Macao affairs, creating a favorable environment for investment and entrepreneurship in the capital.
You Jun announced the commendation decision. Duan Luming, Duan Huiling, Du Jie, Cai Guanshen, Mao Shanhong, Mei Lin, Yang Lishan, Li Ran, Ye Jintian, and Shi Songhai were awarded. Yin Yong presented the awards to the recipients.
Attendees also include Beijing municipal leaders Zhao Lei, Ma Jun, and Sima Hong, as well as Zeng Jin, Secretary General of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.
