Beijing Capital International Airport Continues to Enhance Entry Services, Supporting Beijing’s Development as the Center for International Exchanges

1. More Destinations, More Flights

Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) now serves 225 destinations across 57 countries, including 97 international and regional routes. Intercontinental destinations have increased to 52, the highest number nationwide.

2. “Via PEK to the World” International Transit Program Continues to Grow

The “Via PEK to the World” transit program, launched by BCIA in partnership with Air China, now covers 98 domestic destinations, including Harbin, Changchun, Nanchang, and Hohhot, as well as 55 international and regional destinations such as Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Los Angeles. Passengers can enjoy convenient transfer services with through-ticketing and baggage checked through to their final destination.

3. First Cross-Airline International and Regional Through Flight to Be Launched

Air China, Air Macau, and BCIA will jointly introduce the first cross-airline international and regional through flight, providing seamless travel for passengers between Beijing and Macau.

4. Building a Benchmark “Beijing Services” Comprehensive Service Center

The “Beijing Services” counter at BCIA offers foreign travelers one-stop services, including cash withdrawal with international cards, SIM card setup, cultural and travel bookings, and transportation arrangements.

5. One-Stop Online English Services

BCIA has launched English versions of its official mini program and app, providing foreign passengers with over 40 functions, including flight information, airport Wi-Fi connection, entry policy information, transit instructions, and Beijing travel tips.

6. New Integrated Baggage Services

BCIA features seven integrated baggage service counters, offering one-stop services including packing, storage, and door-to-door delivery. Eligible foreign travelers under the 240-hour visa-free transit policy can enjoy free storage of one piece of luggage for up to three days with a valid passport.

7. Continuous Improvement of Entry Clearance Efficiency

In collaboration with the Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, BCIA has adopted a “dual-lane simultaneous inspection” approach to reduce passengers’ waiting time. A dedicated area for “temporary entry permits” has also been established, allowing permit processing and issuance to be completed in a single step.

8. Optimizing Customs Inspection Layout

In collaboration with customs authorities, BCIA strengthens health inspection and quarantine services for arriving passengers, including medical checks and temperature monitoring, effectively reducing waiting time and improving on-site order.

9. Comprehensive Upgrade of International Security Screening

Five new security lanes have been added for international-to-international transfers at Terminal 3, and the joint inspection area for international departures at Terminal 2 has been upgraded, significantly enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.

10. Widespread Adoption of International and Regional E-Boarding Passes

Electronic boarding pass services are now available on 19 routes operated by 13 airlines, including Air China, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, and United Airlines. Notably, the service now covers all flights to and from Hong Kong.

11. 24-Hour Dining Services

21 restaurants operate 24 hours a day, accepting online orders via the “Food Boarding Pass” mini program with options for in-store pickup and takeaway.

12. Updated Lounges in Terminal 3 International Boarding Area

Passengers can reserve their preferred lounge seating through multiple channels, including online and telephone reservations.

13. Enhanced Retail Shopping Experience

All duty-paid shops at BCIA now offer express services. Passengers can choose from a wide selection of specialty souvenirs, with a dedicated “Beijing Gifts” store opening soon. Additionally, more than 50 stores now participate in the departure tax refund scheme, providing international travelers with a seamless shopping experience and hassle-free tax refunds.

14. Building An International Financial Payment System

BCIA has established six foreign currency exchange agencies, two banks, and 11 ATMs in key passenger areas. In addition, terminal merchants accept a wide range of payment options, including international credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard, cash, Alipay, WeChat Pay, and digital RMB.

15. Direct Shuttle Bus to Universal Studios Beijing

Starting August 5, a direct bus route from BCIA to Universal Studios Beijing has been officially available.

16. Expanded Inbound Tourism Products Launched at the Airport

In collaboration with the Trip.com Group, BCIA has upgraded its inbound travel offerings. In addition to the existing free half-day Beijing tours, tailored service packages are now available for short-term and transit visa-free visitors, with exclusive coupons for flights, hotel accommodations, and attraction tickets.
