On the morning of July 16, the opening ceremony of the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) was held in Beijing.

During the ceremony, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), together with representatives from the business community, jointly released the Beijing Initiative for the Third China International Supply Chain Expo. The Initiative focuses on five areas: safeguarding the security and stability of global industry and supply chains, promoting innovation-driven development, accelerating the advancement of digital and intelligent supply chains, building green and sustainable supply chains, and deepening cooperation within the global business community.

The opening ceremony was attended by over 1,100 representatives from governments, businesses, academia and other sectors across more than 100 countries, regions and international organizations.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, presided over the opening ceremony. He noted this expo features wider international participation, clearer chain of logic, and stronger innovation empowerment. He expressed readiness to join hands with more business friends to uphold the WTO-centered global trading system with proactive attitudes and constructive actions. Ren emphasized that CCPIT will remain firmly committed to serving Chinese and foreign enterprises, steadfastly maintaining the nature of global industry and supply chains as public goods. The council will make greater contributions to building an open world economy and a community with a shared future for humanity.

The third CISCE, organized by the CCPIT, was held from July 16 to 20 with the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future”. Its organization was supported by five international organizations: the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the ICC. Thailand served as the Guest Country of Honor, while China’s Shandong and Guangdong provinces were designated as Guest Provinces of Honor.

This expo was characterized by six major supply chain exhibition sectors: advanced manufacturing, intelligent vehicles, green agriculture, clean energy, digital technology, and healthy living, along with a supply chain service zone. The exhibition consisted of 651 enterprises and institutions from 75 countries and regions, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, and new services across the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of these supply chains. Notably, international exhibitors accounted for 35% of the total.
