On the afternoon of July 9, Lee Hack-young, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (ROK), who was on an official visit to China, visited the Innovation Operation Center of the Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone and the World of Robots to gain an in-depth insight into Beijing’s autonomous driving and robotics industries.

At the Innovation Operation Center, Lee and his delegation learned about the integrated application of the city-level engineering test platform, which is built upon five core systems: vehicle, road, cloud, network, and map. At the World of Robots, they watched highlights from the 2025 Beijing E-Town Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon, met with award-winning robots, and learned about how intelligent robots are being applied across a wide range of scenarios, including industrial manufacturing, integrated medical and elderly care services, bionic animals, tele-surgeries, and home settings.

Lee spoke highly of the Demonstration Zone’s systematic infrastructure and forward-looking development. He said that Beijing has set a fine example for integrating technological innovation and high-end manufacturing, and expressed hope for deeper technological exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with the city in the future.
