On July 2, the third Beijing Consular Protection Knowledge Contest, hosted by the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing under the guidance of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), was officially launched at the headquarters of Foton Motor Co., Ltd.
The inauguration of the contest was held in conjunction with a thematic lecture by overseas security experts for over 100 Foton Motor employees to enhance consular protection campaigns in businesses. At the event, Counsellor Hu Bin of the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA, said that in recent years, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has continuously advanced the implementation of theRegulation of the People’s Republic of China on Consular Protection and Assistancebased on the principle of “serving the people through foreign affairs”.

He further noted that as a new, well-designed activity launched by Beijing in 2023, the Consular Protection Knowledge Contest has attracted widespread participation from university students and faculty, foreign-related enterprises, and foreign affairs professionals. By integrating learning with competition, the event has effectively deepened public understanding of consular protection, delivering positive social impact and remarkable achievements in raising awareness.

Contest Overview
The event includes the qualifying test, preliminary evaluation, semi-final review, pre-finals training, and the final round.Participants can scan the QR code to take the qualifying test between July 2 and August 15, 2025. The finals are scheduled for mid-September with one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and six merit awards. The content of the contest is based on the Regulation of the People’s Republic of China on Consular Protection and Assistance, theGuide to China’s Consular Protection and Assistanceand the latest outcome of Beijing’s efforts to raise public awareness on consular protection, along with the overseas anti-fraud questions curated by the Anti-Fraud Center of the Criminal Investigation Division of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
The contest will feature a series of supporting activities, including Consular Protection Lecture, Consular Protection for All, and the Consular Protection Sitcom Competition, aiming to enhance public awareness on consular protection and overseas security through expert lectures, case studies, and hands-on drills.
