At the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, 26 youth representatives from 15 Latin American countries, including Mexico, Ecuador, and Argentina, embarked on a study tour in Beijing as part of the 2025 China-Latin America Youth Exchange program. On June 18, the representatives visitedseveral sites such asBAIC Foton, Kuaishou Technology, and Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park. There, theygained insights into Beijing’s practice of Chinese modernization and experienced firsthand the vitality of pragmatic China-Latin America cooperation.
Promoting Green Development Together
In April this year, BAIC Foton’s 12 millionth vehicle rolled off the production line at its factory in Brazil, marking the first domestically assembled Foton light-duty commercial truck in the country. At the company’s headquarters, the representatives were offered a detailedintroductionon Foton’s hydrogen fuel cell, battery electric, hybrid, and diesel vehicles, while also exploring its R&Doutcomes in intelligent driving and end-to-end smart logistics.

Upon learning that Foton Cummins Engine Company was named a “Lighthouse Factory” for advanced manufacturingby the World Economic Forum, Emiliano from Argentina noted that the presence of BAIC Foton and other strong, technologically advanced Chinese automakers in Latin America would significantly boost bilateral cooperation in auto manufacturing, particularly in the new energy vehicle sector. As a radio program director, he expressed readinessto leverage his platform to promote Foton’s high-quality products in Argentina.

Sharing Digital LifeTogether
Kwai,Kuaishou’s overseas platform,has amassed over 60 million monthly active users in Latin America. Now, over 700,000 content creators generate income through short videos and livestream e-commerce, benefiting from the digital economy together. During the visit to Kuaishou’s headquarters, the Latin American youth representatives learned about the company’s operations and explored application cases of “Kling”, its AI-powered video generation tool.

Karina from Mexico remarked that Beijing’s progress in AI is astonishing,recognizing that the rapid growth of the short video industry is supported by cutting-edge technology. Given that there are activities of various types in Mexico City every year, she expectscloser cooperation with Beijing in areas such as education, culture, and AI.

Exploring Technological Innovation Together
The representatives also visited Zhongguancun Dongsheng Science and Technology Park, which has been approved as aNational Science and Technology Enterprise Incubator in China. There, they learned about the park’s operational model and its achievements in poolingglobal innovation talent, as well as how new-generation information technologies such as 5G, IoT, and cloud computing have enhanced intelligent park management. At Idriverplus, a company based in the park,the representatives explored the application of autonomous driving systems in intelligent mobility and smart living scenarios.

Denis from Argentina shared that Buenos Aires is vigorouslydeveloping its own science and technology parks and hopes to exchange experience with Beijing in parkconstruction, operation, and management. Cristian from Costa Rica noted that San José is adopting active measuresto enhance the governance of municipal sanitation and hopes to introduce products and technologies such as autonomous cleaning robots to the country.

“Nothing, not even mountains and seas, can separate people with common goals and ideals.” The representatives unanimously described the visit as deeply enriching. They were impressed by Beijing’s economic and social achievements,and expressed hope for stronger China-Latin America cooperation, so that more sci-tech innovations can benefit the people and advance shared development.
