In 2025, districts across Beijing have been actively engaged in foreign exchanges and communication, with a focus on the capital’s high-quality development. The goal is to better tell the story of Chinese modernization to the world and contribute to Beijing’s role as the center for international exchanges through concrete actions.

Haidian District: “Diplomats’ Roundtable Dialogue”- Singapore Session Held

Recently, the “Diplomats’ Roundtable Dialogue” - Singapore Session was held in Haidian District.

Lin Jiayi, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Beijing, expressed hope that the event would foster closer exchanges between Singaporean institutions and Zhongguancun Science City, promoting practical cooperation in sci-tech innovation and commercialization. He also pledged to support high-quality enterprises in establishing and developing their presence in Haidian and welcomed Haidian companies to explore business opportunities in Singapore. Additionally, he proposed integrating the Singapore-China Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES) with Haidian’s university student internship programs to facilitate two-way exchanges and strengthen communication between talented youth.

The Singaporean delegation also visited the Exhibition Center of Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone to gain firsthand insights into Haidian’s sci-tech innovation achievements.

Pinggu District: Agricultural Experts from the U.S. and South Africa Explore Cooperation Opportunities

Recently, the Agricultural Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in China and a delegation from South Africa’s Department of Agriculture visited Pinggu District separately to learn about the Pinggu Peaches industry, smart agriculture practices, and rural revitalization models, exploring potential cooperation in the future.

The U.S. delegation visited the Lvnong Xingyun Base in Liujiadian Town and the Future Orchard in Xiying Village, Yukou Town, to observe the growth of Pinggu Peaches and efficient tech-driven cultivation methods. At the Guononggang Supply and Marketing Village Livestreaming Industrial Park in Daxingzhuang Town, they learned how the government and institutions support farmers and promote rural revitalization via livestreaming platforms. The South African delegation conducted field visits to Huadu Yukou Poultry Industry, Jingwa Horticulture IDC, Guononggang Supply and Marketing Village Livestreaming Industrial Park, Zixingyuan (Beijing) Food Technology Co., Ltd., and Nanshan Village, gaining detailed insights into avian flu prevention, agricultural exports, and joint training of technical personnel.

The foreign guests praised Pinggu District’s outstanding achievements in developing its peach industry and advancing rural revitalization. They were particularly impressed by innovations such as smart breeding, intelligent greenhouses, automated food production, and internet-enabled agricultural sales. Jadon Marianetti, Agricultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in China, noted that there is great potential for deeper cooperation in areas such as technology and trade. Mooketsa Ramasodi, Director-General of South Africa’s Department of Agriculture, expressed hope to draw on the experience of Pinggu High-Tech Agricultural Z-Park to facilitate agricultural modernization in South Africa.

Miyun District: Liberian International Commerce Officials Inspect New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Development

Recently, international commerce officials from Liberia conducted a field visit to Miyun District to explore the development of its NEV industry.

At the BAIC BJEV-Huawei STELATO Super Factory, the delegation gained in-depth knowledge of NEV production processes and capacity, and raved about the factory’s highly intelligent manufacturing model. Both sides also exchanged views on enterprise branding and market expansion.

The delegation later visited the Miyun Holistic Development Center to learn about the district’s ecological advantages and industrial layout, particularly its prominent strengths and achievements in life and health, cultural tourism, characteristic agriculture, and intelligent manufacturing. They expressed their willingness to further deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Yanqing District: The Russian Orchestra Performs Concert on the Badaling Great Wall

As year 2025 marks the conclusion of the “China-Russia Years of Culture”, the 2025 Beijing Great Wall Concert was staged passionately at Wangjing Cultural Square in the Badaling Great Wall recently.

Conducted by world-renowned violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov, the concert featured the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, Chinese pianist Yin Chengzong, Russian tenor Alexey Neklyudov, and soprano Olga Peretyatko. Together, they delivered a spectacular audio-visual feast to audiences from both China and abroad.

“This concert not only gives the musical communities of our two countries an opportunity to exchange with each other,” Spivakov remarked, “but also deepens our friendship.”
