With the Spring Festival approaching, the number of outbound travelers continues to rise. To uphold the principle of “foreign affairs for the people” and serve citizens’ diverse needs, Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has organized a series of diverse and engaging consular protection campaigns and themed sharing events. By mobilizing resources from various parties to jointly advance consular protection work, the Office aims to continuously enhance citizens’ sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security.
Tailored Service for Safe Overseas Travel
Beijing Foreign Affairs Office brought Consular Protection Lecture to Xiaomi, delivering tailored service based on in-depth preliminary research into Xiaomi’s needs. The event featured various forms such as expert lectures, case studies, interactive Q&A sessions, and thematic exhibitions, all designed to enhance employees’ overseas safety awareness and preparedness, providing safety support as the enterprise “goes global”. The consular protection campaign also entered the Beijing Chongde Hall Plaque Museum, where the public gained valuable overseas safety knowledge through engaging activities. The consular protection-themed New Year woodblock prints mixed education with entertainment, turning learning into an enjoyable experience. This initiative offered thoughtful care to potential travelers, ensuring their safety while abroad.
Collective Wisdom for Safe Study Abroad
During the themed sharing event on overseas study safety, 28 experts and academics from universities such as Peking University, Renmin University of China, and China Foreign Affairs University, as well as institutions like the China Association for Mental Health and Beijing Positive Psychology Association, jointly analyzed various safety issues faced by international students. They discussed key topics such as pre-departure safety training and mental health education for international students, and offered professional suggestions.
Sharing a Common Mission to Ensure Worry-Free Journeys
During the sharing event for cultural and tourism institutions, leaders from Beijing Culture and Tourism Association, as well as 25 travel agencies including CTG Travel, u-tour, and HCG Travel Group, engaged in in-depth discussions on the evolving requirements and responsibilities of these institutions regarding consular protection in the new era. The goal is to ensure effective early warnings of safety risks at travel destinations, improve emergency response plans, and establish pre-departure briefing systems, thereby ensuring the safety of tourists.
Playing an Exemplary Role to Drive Community Engagement
The community consular protection sharing event brought together over 30 participants, including frontline workers from foreign affairs offices of several districts and communities. Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Offices of Xicheng District, Shijingshan District, and Huairou District, as well as from Qinshanshui Community and Ruida Community, shared their experiences in applying the latest results of systematic popularization and education on consular protection to deliver services to communities.
Pooling Wisdom to Forge a Strong Shield
In the sharing event for foreign-related security agencies, experts from 15 large security agencies, including Zhong Jue Hua Wei (Beijing) Security Service, Falcon Terrorism Prevention, HXZA Group, and DeWe Security, gathered to discuss how to tackle the increasingly complex security challenges in high-risk regions. They exchanged insights on technologies and measures related to emergency response mechanisms, safety information monitoring, and customized security services, offering tips to comprehensively enhance the safety of employees and tourists for their overseas travels.
Beijing Foreign Affairs Office will continue to fulfill its commitment to “foreign affairs for the people” and steadily advance consular protection efforts, ensuring the safety of citizens traveling abroad with concrete actions.
