These reactions came from the foreign diplomats as they experienced a test ride in Xiaomi SU7 Max on the racing track at the Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory. They were full of praise for its exceptional performance.
On November 21, a special promotion of Xiaomi automobiles was successfully held as part of the “Foreign Diplomats Experiencing Beijing” series. The event brought together over 30 diplomatic envoys and business managers from 18 countries, including Argentina, Egypt, Austria, Germany, Singapore, Turkey and Indonesia.
The participating diplomats visited vehicle static display, took test rides, toured the automated smart production lines, and engaged in in-depth communication with Xiaomi Group.
Four key themes truly captured the essence of the diplomats’ experience at this special promotion of Xiaomi automobiles.
“Striking Design” on the Static Display
The Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory is located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, spanning 718,000 square meters. The facility consists of an R&D and laboratory base, six production workshops, and a 2.5-kilometer-long testing track. It is a comprehensive smart manufacturing park integrating automotive R&D, production, sales, and customer experience.
At the exhibition hall of Xiaomi automobiles, the diplomats received an insightful introduction from the factory’s engineers. The presentation covered the exterior design of the SU7 series, the nine personalized color options and the smart cabin feature, showcasing a seamless integration of modern aesthetics and innovative technology.
The diplomats unanimously expressed their deep admiration for the impressive design of Xiaomi automobiles, which exuded tremendous dynamism with streamlined bodies. The sleek exterior lines and high-tech smart cabin not only catch people’s eyes but also exemplify Xiaomi’s commitment to excellence in product quality. Marcelo Gabriel SUAREZ Salvia, Ambassador of Argentina to China, remarked that he was particularly impressed by Xiaomi SU7, and this visit to the Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory has truly demonstrated the power of technological innovation. He added that he will definitely recommend Xiaomi automobiles to family and friends if given the opportunity, and he believes everyone could find a color and model they love.
“Hyper Efficiency” in the Production Workshops
A new Xiaomi automobile rolls off the assembly line every 76 seconds. This remarkable achievement is even more impressive considering that it comes from a brand-new factory, led by a new team, and dedicated to the production of an innovative new model. Within just 230 days, the factory reached the significant milestone of manufacturing 100,000 complete vehicles, a record high in new energy vehicle production.
Highly Automated and Smart Production Lines
The diplomats toured the production workshops, where they closely observed the impressive efficiency of advanced industrial robots working on the production lines. In the body shop, all critical processes are fully automated, with over 700 industrial robots operating on lines. Major components are produced with integrated die casting technology, while key components are manufactured in-house. The assembly precision for large parts reaches the highest standard of ±0.5 millimeters, ensuring that each Xiaomi automobile rolls off the assembly line with exceptional quality.
Introduction of the Design Features of Xiaomi Automobiles
The diplomats marveled at Xiaomi production lines, which exemplify cutting-edge technology, exceptional efficiency, and advanced intelligence. Babagana Wakil, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Nigerian Embassy in China, stated that before this visit, he had never imagined that Xiaomi operated such an advanced manufacturing facility capable of producing high-performance electric vehicles. Given the widespread popularity of Xiaomi smartphones in Nigeria, he believes that Xiaomi electric vehicles will also be well received by Nigerian consumers in the future. He expressed his willingness to engage further with Xiaomi to discuss the potential of establishing factories in Nigeria. He added that they have established connections with Xiaomi Group through this promotion event and hoped to introduce Xiaomi automobiles to Nigeria in the future.
Experience “High Performance” on the Racing Track
Racing on a professional track was an exceptionally rare experience for the diplomats.
Previously, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra set an unprecedented benchmark for Chinese automotive performance by lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife (North loop, a holy land for global motorsports and a proving ground for pinnacle performance of the racing vehicles) in a record time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds. This feat earned it the title of the fastest four-door vehicle in official Nürburgring history. Hearing about this achievement, the diplomats couldn’t wait to get in Xiaomi SU7 Max to experience the thrill of “Fast & Furious”.
Return from the Racing Track
On the professional racing track at Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory, skilled drivers expertly maneuvered the vehicles, showcasing the superior vehicle control and stability of Xiaomi automobiles. It takes only 2.78 seconds for Xiaomi SU7 Max to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 265 km/h. The diplomats were thoroughly thrilled by the test ride and highly praised the safety and stability of Xiaomi automobiles. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Commercial Counselor of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in China, expressed his admiration for the exceptional performance of Xiaomi automobiles. He remarked that this was the very first time for him to ride such a fast automobile, and the speed was truly astounding.
Promotion and Exchange Advance Practical Cooperation
During the business promotion and exchange session, senior executives from Xiaomi Group, including Zeng Xuezhong, Senior Vice President and President of the International Business Department, and Alain Lam, Vice President and CFO of Xiaomi, introduced Xiaomi’s global development strategy and future cooperation prospects to the diplomats. Face-to-face exchanges between these corporate leaders, the attending diplomats and commercial officials have greatly contributed to their potential cooperation.
Business Promotion and Exchange
The diplomats all admired the rapid development of Xiaomi’s new energy vehicles. Through this event, they gained insight into Xiaomi’s business development strategy in the new energy vehicle sector. They expressed readiness to maintain communication with Xiaomi Group to advance cooperation at deeper levels in the production and sales of new energy and smart vehicles. Huub Buise, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the Netherlands in China, remarked that he was deeply impressed by Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory. He noted that China has already achieved significant progress in this sector, therefore, as Europe is vigorously promoting the development of new energy, further collaboration with Beijing in the new energy sector is highly expected. He invited Xiaomi Group to visit their embassy for further exchanges and cooperation. Mahmoud Tialab, the Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in China, stated that he had previously visited many factories and enterprises, yet Xiaomi EV Hyperfactory left him the most profound impression. He added that they have already contacted Xiaomi Group and will arrange senior delegations to visit Xiaomi for further practical cooperation.
