On October 26, the Fifth Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Green Development Forum officially opened in Beijing.

Themed “cultivating new quality productive forces, stimulating green new momentum”, the forum featured 16 specialized events in a “1+5+10” framework, namely a Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) Green Industry Expo, five themed activities, and ten parallel forums. Over 100 renowned experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and individuals from various sectors both at home and abroad attended the forum or delivered keynote speeches. The forum strives to establish a comprehensive green development platform that caters to the capital’s growth in the new era, an international hub for green cooperation, and a market-oriented venue for boosting green industries.

At the opening ceremony, the Implementation Guideline of Beijing Municipality on Accelerating the Development of an International Benchmark City for Green Economy was released, marking the official launch of Beijing’s action to implement this commitment. Beijing will make coordinated efforts in five key areas: green technology innovation, green industry cultivation, green and livable city development, green culture promotion, and green cooperation for shared benefits. By doing so, the city aims to build itself into an international benchmark city for green economy in all respects by 2035 with a significant increase in green economic value added. Tan Xuxiang, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director General of the Administrative Commission of BMC, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
