The 9th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) kicked off on September 25 local time in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with more than 2,500 participants from over 100 countries.
The meeting elected Lan Fo’an, China’s Minister of Finance and AIIB Governor for China, the Chair of the 10th AIIB Board of Governors, and approved the 10th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the AIIB to be held in Beijing in June 2025.

As the first multilateral financial institution initiated by China, the AIIB was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Beijing. It currently has 109 members, with annual meetings of the Board of Governors rotating among member countries.
