On July 14, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, led a delegation to Pinggu District and Yanqing District to investigate the development of agricultural science and technology and rural revitalization.
In Lipao Village, Badaling Town, Yanqing District, the delegation learned about the village’s industrial layout, infrastructure development, as well as the inspiring stories of villagers reclaiming wasteland, improving the environment, and developing fruit and tourism industries. They also visited the Yanqing breeding base of DQY Ecological, gaining an in-depth understanding of the green and environmentally friendly agricultural development model that integrates sci-tech innovation and traditional farming practices.
In Pinggu District, the delegation visited Zixingyuan (Beijing) Food Technology Co., Ltd., where they toured the pastry production workshop and intelligent packaging workshop, among other areas, which showcased modern automated food production processes, and tried Beijing specialties such as Tang Huo Shao (sweetened baked wheaten cake), hand-shredded chicken, and sauced beef. The next destination was Zhongguancun Agricultural Science and Technology Park Innovation Works, where the delegation learned about pig farming, breeding, and relevant scientific research. Additionally, they visited local food companies such as NHL-Cooperl Joint Venture Limited Company and Beijing Kinghey Food Co., Ltd. for detailed information on the production, processing, and sales of pork products, which demonstrated how technology enhances agricultural productivity.
Tapia stated that this trip enabled him to witness the tremendous achievements of rural revitalization and how the application of innovative agricultural technology yields benefits for people. Mutual understanding has been enhanced through experience sharing. He hoped to facilitate connections and pragmatic collaboration between enterprises from both sides, thereby advancing the friendship between China and Cuba.
The delegation also visited the Great Wall at Badaling.
