As of June 1, international bank cards are officially accepted for ticket purchases in Beijing’s rail transit.
International financial IC cards and magnetic stripe cards issued by overseas banks, and six types of foreign cards, including Visa and MasterCard, can be used at 1,087 POS terminals on all 27 lines of Beijing’s rail transit system. It is reported that payment services will continue to be upgraded, with expectations that by the end of this year, passengers will be able to purchase tickets by tapping their bank cards and pass through the gates simultaneously.

In addition to staff trained in English, multilingual translation machines are available at key stations such as Tian’anmenxi on Line 1, Dongzhi Men and Beijing Railway Station on Line 2, Nanluogu Xiang on Line 6, Olympic Park on Line 8, Xi’erqi on Line 13, Maquanying on Line 15, Batong Line on Line 1, and Universal Resort on Line 7. This facilitates barrier-free communication in multiple languages, ensuring accurate information for international travelers.
