“Foreign Diplomats Experiencing Beijing” – A Special Promotion of the BMC

On June 12, a special promotion event was held at the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) as part of the “Foreign Diplomats Experiencing Beijing” series. The event was hosted by the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and the Tongzhou District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. It brought together 30 diplomatic envoys and commercial counselors from 19 countries, including Madagascar, Grenada, Nigeria, Croatia, the United States, and Serbia.

Experiencing High-Quality Development of the BMC

The diplomats visited the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing and Beijing Library, and embarked on a boat tour along the canal to receive presentations on the BMC’s planning. Amidst the picturesque scenery along the banks, they gained a profound understanding of the BMC’s achievements in high-quality development.

Many diplomats visiting Tongzhou for the first time were impressed by the BMC’s environment, which features lush forests, lucid waters, and vibrant city, as well as its rapid development. They eagerly took out their phones to capture the moments. The Ambassador of Madagascar to China remarked, “Tongzhou will be an important driver for Beijing’s future development.” The Minister of the Embassy of Croatia and spouse highly praised the Beijing Library for its size, which is larger than the Library of Alexandria, and its unique design.

Drawing up a Blueprint for Practical Collaboration through Exchanges

During the promotion, officials from the Canal Business District Management Committee of Tongzhou District, along with key enterprises such as Beijing Trans Manufacture and Trade Co., Ltd. (BTMT), Ueda Yagi Money Broking (China) Co., Ltd., Colorfulead Power Technology Co., Ltd., and Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals, presented major projects to the diplomats.



Project Promotion by the Canal Business District and Key Enterprises


The great interest prompted diplomats to spend a long time at the enterprise booths. The Ambassador of Grenada to China was particularly impressed with Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals’ insulin products and was willing to introduce them to his home country. He also mentioned the possibility of leading a business delegation from Grenada to Tongzhou to explore cooperation opportunities. Babagana Wakil, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Nigerian Embassy in China, showed keen interest in BMC’s biomedical enterprises, hoping to facilitate collaborations. A diplomat from the Embassy of Malta expressed a desire to return to Tongzhou with the ambassador to seek potential partnerships.



Diplomats and Business Representatives Exchange Views


After this special promotion, diplomats expressed confidence in the BMC’s future development, planning to facilitate cooperation between their domestic enterprises and the BMC on major projects. The Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality will provide follow-up services to achieve tangible outcomes.
