The 16th China-LAC Business Summit, themed "Open Innovation, Shared Development", recently concluded in Beijing. During the two-day event, LAC entrepreneurs attending the event explored various enterprises and parks across different districts in Beijing, with the aim of seeking collaboration and business opportunities.
BMC – A panorama of blue water and green areas
The LAC entrepreneurs visited the Reception Hall of Beijing’s "two zones" to gain a comprehensive understanding of the overall development of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) and the "two zones". They were presented with a bird's-eye view of the convergence of five rivers at the Grand Canal Place, which showcased the panorama of BMC, featuring blue water, green areas, clear skies, and urban facilities. Furthermore, the entrepreneurs were informed about the development plan and industrial layout of the Canal Business District, which aims to establish itself as a global center for wealth management and a global center for green and sustainable finance.
Mentougou - Power of technological innovation
A total of 19 LAC entrepreneurs visited the Zhongguancun (Jingxi) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Community, Mentougou Sci-tech Innovation Intelligence Center. Within the Zhongguancun AI display area themed "Innovation Intelligence, Powerful AI", these entrepreneurs, having gained insights into the park's AI ecosystem, technology, and products, expressed their eagerness to collaborate with Mentougou due to the compatibility of resources, industries, and market demand.
An Ecuadorian entrepreneur who is engaged in agricultural machinery import and export said that this visit enabled him to witness the power of Beijing's tech innovation. "It's remarkable! I am impressed by the development model of the park, which is precisely what our country needs. I hope that we can have more cooperation in the future."
BDA - The future is within reach
During a visit to the Innovation Operation Center of Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA), entrepreneurs were deeply impressed. Drawn by the diverse application scenarios of autonomous driving, LAC entrepreneurs took a test ride, experiencing the wisdom and convenience of future mobility. A Mexican entrepreneur said that it was his first time in an autonomous vehicle. "It is a technological breakthrough of epoch-making significance for cars to realize completely autonomous driving."
The guests were also impressed by the application scenarios of OBE’s intelligent security total solutions. Of particular interest was the intelligent security check, which is equipped with an intelligent analysis system for detecting potential emotions, as well as access gates featuring facial recognition and ID card verification. At SinoVision, the guests were given a demonstration of the production and overseas sales of its CT products.
Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Food Group and Foton - Looking forward to more cooperation
As agriculture plays a crucial role in China-LAC cooperation, LAC entrepreneurs were eager to visit the Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Food Group during the summit. Rafael, Chairman of the Mexico-China Business Committee, Mexican Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, explored the Cuihu Factory to gain insights into greenhouse technology. He expressed his interest in bringing this technology back to his country, stating, "This efficient technology has significantly improved yields. I would also like to know the amount of investment for its implementation."

During a visit to Foton, an entrepreneur from BASE had the opportunity to board the battery electric bus displayed on the site. She expressed her admiration for Foton’s significant advancements in Mexico, saying, "I hope that more and more new energy vehicle enterprises will invest in and establish factories in Mexico, thereby driving the development of the new energy industry in the country."
