To celebrate the success of the 20th CPC National Congress, the official WeChat account of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office (WeChat ID: bjszfwb) posted a collection of "Highlights in Strengthening Beijing's Role as the Center for International Exchanges by Each District", showcasing the progress and achievements made by each district in related tasks and how they will build on past successes to further advance the capital city's development in the new era.
Fangshan District has made significant progress in improving Beijing's role as a center for international exchanges by integrating current resources and channels, strengthening its comprehensive carrying capacity, and introducing high-quality international resources.
I. Move faster to plan and implement key projects
Fangshan is currently putting in maximum effort to establish a national research base for giant panda breeding, which will serve as a theme park with functions such as panda breeding, scientific research and popularization, tourism, and foreign exchange. The International Wine City will play an even more significant role in international cultural communication. To achieve this, a special plan will be made to develop Liulihe National Archaeological Park into an iconic cultural heritage with global recognition.

II. Continue to deepen foreign exchanges and cooperation
Fangshan has established exchanges and cooperation with the city of Beaune, located in the Côte-d'Or Department of Burgundy, France. This partnership spans across various fields like trade, culture, tourism, and agriculture, with a focus on the wine industry. In order to showcase its offerings, Fangshan has organized a number of events such as Beijing International Long Walk, Fangshan Wine Festival, Fangshan Riding Open, and China (Beijing) International RV & Camping Exhibition, which have successfully promoted the “Fangshan Stories”.

III. Make industries more globally competitive
Fangshan has attracted a diverse range of international resources by attracting extensive participation in events such as China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), Zhongguancun Forum, and Financial Street Forum. With over 540 high-tech enterprises, Fangshan Park of Zhongguancun Science Park has played a pivotal role in supporting key projects in high-end manufacturing, new materials, and cross-sector programs for medical engineering. It also contributed to the development of the Jinghui Gas Hydrogen Hard Technology Incubation Platform, the Graphene Seed Incubation Park, and the 5G Automated Driving Demonstration Area.

IV. Improve international service environment
By leveraging the high-quality university resources located in Liangxiang University Town, Fangshan has hosted academic forums with global significance and international exchange activities. With a professional multilingual translation service team in place, it has worked to address sign translation errors and further enhance the international language environment.

V. Build an international tourism and leisure area
The unveiling of the development plan for the construction of an international tourism and leisure zone has transformed Fangshan into a city-level benchmark tourism district. Fangshan UNESCO Global Geopark has been recognized as a popular national tourism destination for summer getaways. To promote quality international tourism routes in the southwest of the capital, Fangshan has launched 10 quality root-searching tour routes and more than 100 customized routes such as winery tours.
