On the afternoon of September 1, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission co-hosted the 2022 Beijing International Conference for Public Health Cooperation in Shougang Park.

As one of the major thematic events for health services of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services, this conference, themed "To Jointly Promote the High-Quality Development of Health", was the main session of the 2022 Beijing International Medical Forum. Lei Haichao, Vice-Minister of the National Health Commission, delivered a speech online. Lu Yan, Vice Mayor of Beijing, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. So did Gao Fu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qiao Jie, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and representatives from Beijing Municipal Health Commission, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the Netherlands embassy in China, the French Public Health Agency, the Ministry of Health of Singapore and other institutions. Around 300 people attended the conference offline, including representatives from medical institutions in Beijing, prestigious health experts and scholars as well as journalists. It was streamed simultaneously, watched by representatives from medical institutions and relevant industries, experts from think tanks and members of news agencies in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, as well as 52 Chinese medical teams delivering assistance in other countries.

At the opening ceremony, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, Eduprat Training, and PKU Care Health Management Center signed the Sino-French Emergency Medicine Cooperation and Exchange Agreement under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the French Embassy in China for continued support for emergency medicine management, training for medical professionals, and research cooperation. Besides, at the conference, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission launched the Beijing Initiative for Collective Response to Global Health Challenges & Cooperation for Green Hospital Development, in which nine medical institutions participated. The initiative is aimed at promoting the green transition of health systems in a coordinated and efficient manner, thus contributing to the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

Since 2020, Beijing has held the International Conference for Public Health Cooperation during the CIFTIS for three consecutive years. It shows that the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Beijing Municipal Government attach great importance to the public health system and are committed to further improving the system. It also presents Beijing's achievements in balancing epidemic prevention and control and socioeconomic development following the guiding principles of speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping. This conference gave an in-depth interpretation of how to adopt the new development philosophy in the health system, help build a new development pattern and achieve high-quality development at the new development stage, which will surely contribute to the development of Beijing as the "four centers" and international anti-epidemic cooperation.
