On June 8, 2022, at the XXIVth ISPRS Congress, Professor Jiang Jie from the School of Geomatics and Urban Spatial Informatics, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), was elected as Secretary General of International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) for 2022-2026.

ISPRS is a non-governmental organization devoted to the development of international cooperation for the advancement of photogrammetry and remote sensing and their applications. Headquartered in Hannover, Germany, it is an influential body in the international photogrammetry, GIS and remote sensing community. At present, ISPRS has 90 national members, 13 associate members, 14 regional members and 58 sustaining members. The Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography is its national member.

Professor Jiang's election shows that China's strength in photogrammetry has been highly recognized. This will help further boost our exchanges and cooperation with the international photogrammetry and remote sensing community, and contribute to Beijing's efforts in becoming the center for international exchange and the national center for scientific discovery and technological innovation.
