A few days ago, the Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, at the invitation of Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40), participated in the Global Cities Climate Action Exhibition on behalf of Beijing during the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) held in Glasgow, UK, to showcase Beijing’s achievements in actively following the guidance of green development philosophy and promoting low-carbon sustainable development.
The exhibition is made available both online and offline. The physical exhibition is held at the Glasgow Science Center, one of the COP26 conference venues. In the context of ongoing COVID-19 response, the virtual exhibition vividly displays some classic case studies of green and low-carbon development, such as the carbon neutrality plan of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics and the New Shougang High-end Industrial Comprehensive Service Park, as well as outstanding achievements Beijing has made in addressing climate change and strengthening ecological and environmental protection in recent years through videos, texts, pictures and other forms via an interactive digital platform, which has achieved good results. The virtual exhibition was launched on November 1 and will be available to the international community via media platforms of various countries. 11 cities around the world including Beijing, London, Washington, Los Angeles, Nairobi, Auckland and Bogota participated in the exhibition.
