On December 18, 2020, Li Hui, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, met with Murata Atsushi, President of Mizuho Bank (China), Ltd. Beijing Branch. Li Hui congratulated Murata Atsushi on his new position as president of Mizuho Bank (China), Ltd. Beijing Branch, and expressed gratitude to the branch for its financial support to Beijing in promoting work and production resumption and maintaining the supply and price stability of agricultural products. Li Hui said that Beijing had made significant strategic achievements in coordinated efforts to fight the epidemic and promote economic and social development. Beijing is implementing the new development philosophy and fostering a new development paradigm for high-quality development. Li Hui said that Beijing would work together with Mizuho Bank to implement the consensus between the top officials of the two sides in recent meetings. Li Hui hoped that Beijing Branch of Mizuho Bank would serve as a bridge between the two sides, proactively participate in the construction of the "Two Zones" and the China-Japan Innovation Demonstration Zone, and stimulate more Japanese firms to invest in Beijing. Li Hui also expressed his hope for the Mizuho Beijing Branch's support to Beijing enterprises in "going global" and its effort to encourage innovation of and cooperation between firms from Beijing and Japan in areas such as trade in services, digital trade, and Fintech.

Murata Atsushi spoke highly of Beijing's achievements in epidemic prevention and control and social and economic development. He said that Mizuho Bank and other Japanese enterprises looked forward to the building of the "Two Zones" and the China-Japan Innovation Demonstration Zone in Beijing. The Beijing Branch of Mizuho Bank will strengthen its exchanges and cooperation with Beijing, publicize Beijing's opening-up policies and platforms to other Japanese firms, and make constant efforts to deepen the practical cooperation between the two sides.
