As the whole nation has been actively studying and implementing the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping on July 1st, Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), led the representatives of Party members of CIDCA and invited heads of government departments, enterprises and public institutions to jointly conduct field research in Yanqing District on July 10th, aiming to help rural areas in Beijing revitalize. The field trip was facilitated by the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office who played a vital role in active coordination and promotion. Representatives from the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China National Pharmaceutical Group, China Youth Travel Service, China National Engineering Research Center of JUNCAO Technology and Beijing Branch of Xiamen Meihaile Company participated in the event. Xiong Jiuling, Director-General of Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, Mu Peng, Party secretary of Yanqing District, and Yang Qi, Deputy Director-General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs also attended.

Led by Luo Zhaohui, the research group walked into the fields and stopped by the village houses and cottages. They went to Lipao village in Badaling town, Jiuxian town and Shixia village in Badaling town in turns. With great enthusiasm, the group visited the village history museum of Lipao village, demonstration gardens of fruit trees, potted plants and agritourism, relaxing homestays and hotels, and the planting bases of Chinese herbal medicine. They found out more about the integrated development of local agriculture and tourism, the business of homestays and hotels as well as the income growth of farmers planting Chinese herbal medicine, etc.

After the field research, Luo Zhaohui and other group members held discussions and exchanged views with the related Beijing municipal departments and Yanqing District departments. They concluded that CIDCA will give full play to its advantages of resources and platforms to actively match investment promotion with the rural area revitalization projects in Yanqing and will support the district in establishing industries with distinctive local features, namely Juncao, Chinese herbal medicine, tourism, and green food. To this end, CIDCA will promote the construction of the northern base of Juncao technology, contribute to the expansion of Baikal skullcap and many other Chinese herbal medicine markets, utilize various channels to help promote Yanqing District and increase its popularity with the promotion of the well-known Great Wall, Beijing Horticultural Expo 2019 and Winter Olympics. Ultimately, CIDCA will help Beijing to realize its function of the national center for international exchanges. Next, the office, city, and district will set up dedicated workgroups and work together to finalize and implement the projects and make achievements.

After the meeting, Zhu Honghai, Director-General of the Department of General Affairs of CIDCA, and Ye Dahua, Executive Deputy District Mayor of Yanqing District signed a Letter of Intent Regarding China International Development Cooperation Agency Contributing to the Rural Revitalization in Yanqing District, Beijing.

This event is a manifestation of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office studying and implementing the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping on July 1st and coordinating diplomatic and foreign affairs resources to contribute to the high-quality development of Beijing. It also shows how the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office applies the practice of "I do practical things for the people" based on its responsibility, positioning and learning of the history of the Party.
