Themed “Industrial Internet empowers new trade in service”, the Industrial Internet Summit 2020 was successfully staged at China National Convention Center on the afternoon of September 5. As the only forum focusing on industrial Internet at this year's CIFTIS, the event was hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and jointly organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Administrative Committee of Beijing Economic-Technology Development Area, China Academy of Industrial Internet and Chinese Institute of Electronics.
Wang Zhijun, member of Leading Party Members’ Group and Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, and Yin Yong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing, attended the forum and delivered speeches. The event brought together distinguished guests and business leaders including Mei Hong, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chai Tianyou, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, for a discussion about how industrial Internet can facilitate all-round and in-depth integration between manufacturing and services across a wide range of fields, and contribute to the improvement and upgrading of the overall structure of China's trade in services.
Vice Mayor Yin Yong pointed out in his speech that Beijing, earnestly implementing the decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the strategy of innovation-driven development of industrial Internet, took industrial Internet as a strategic choice for high-quality economic development of the capital and a pillar for the upgrading of its real economy. In addition, Beijing has introduced the Three-Year Action Plan for Industrial Internet Development, signed cooperation agreements with Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to jointly promote innovation-driven development of industrial Internet, and worked vigorously to foster a sound ecosystem for this purpose. Beijing's industrial Internet development has been on a fast track with growing support at the basic level, greater empowerment by platforms and constantly improving ecosystem for innovation-driven development. Beijing will follow the important instruction of General Secretary Xi Jinping about supporting Beijing in developing a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector, strive to build a more open, advanced, fair and convenient environment, and create a bright future for innovation-driven development of industrial Internet through joint efforts with enterprises and talent from home and abroad.
Academician Mei Hong and Academician Chai Tianyou delivered keynote speeches entitled “Understanding of and Thoughts on Industrial Internet” and “Industrial Internet and Industrial AI” respectively, expressing their views on the direction of innovation-driven development of industrial Internet amid the new round of global technological and industrial revolution.
Li Ying, first-level inspector at the Information Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Pan Feng, Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology also gave keynote speeches entitled “Accelerating the Development of Industrial Internet Platforms Through Industrial E-Commerce” and “From Connection to Linkage: Jointly Promoting Innovation-Driven Development of Industrial Internet in Beijing” respectively.
Representatives from GE Digital, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Goldwind, BONC and other enterprises attended and addressed the forum, sharing experience and achievements in the application of industrial Internet in their production and operation scenarios with a focus on the transformation from traditional manufacturing to service-oriented manufacturing.
In addition, the event had two more highlights: First, the Committee for the Promotion of Industrial Internet was launched officially, with a mission to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem for industrial Internet and to promote resources integration and integrated development in the field. Second, the Innovation Center for Energy Industrial Internet released 2019 Energy Industrial Internet Casebook, a major achievement of its research work, presenting the preliminary achievements made in the digital transformation of the energy industry and providing great reference for the intelligent and Internet-based development of the energy industry in the future.
As an important professional forum held at 2020 CIFTIS, Industrial Internet Summit 2020 provided a communication platform for competent authorities, experts, scholars and top-notch professionals in the field, enabling them to focus on new trade in services and explore new development approaches. The event proffered new thoughts for promoting high-quality development of trade in services and for pursuing robust growth of the industrial internet industry.
