On August 26, the Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government, the People's Government of Xicheng District, and China CITIC Bank Beijing Branch jointly held the ceremony at China CITIC Bank Beijing Branch for the launch of new preventive consular protection channels.

At the event, 10 citizens of Beijing became consular protection promotion volunteers. Liu Yiran, a volunteer representative from China CITIC Bank Beijing Branch, called on all sectors and citizens in Beijing to learn more about consular protection, enhance safety awareness and risk prevention and control capabilities, and work together to ensure safe travels. These volunteers were granted with overseas travel safety brochure kits, which contain the Travel Safety Card and the Manual on Travelling amid COVID-19.

The new preventative consular protection channels include the dedicated consular protection information area at 74 CITIC Beijing Branch outlets and a series of activities to be held regularly such as public lectures, Awareness Day, and pre-trip sessions.
