To strengthen cultural exchanges between China and Russia, the Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, together with six schools in Beijing, participated in a series of online events including “Hello, Moscow!” – the online summer camp – and the tourism cooperation forum between Moscow and Chinese cities/provinces. Representatives from nine cities and provinces such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Heilongjiang also took part in the event.

Coordinated by the Foreign Affairs Office, eight students from Beijing's six schools including the High School Affiliated to Beijing Foreign Studies University and the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China participated in the online summer camp from August 20 to 27. During the period, the Moscow side used live streaming to introduce Moscow's achievements in biomedicine, energy, environment, transportation, smart city, and other fields to more than 90 Chinese middle school students. The students also took a virtual tour around the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Kremlin, and Mosfilm and communicated with their peers from Moscow.

On August 28, Cao Pengcheng, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, attended and spoke at the tourism cooperation forum between Moscow and Chinese cities/provinces. Participants exchanged ideas on a range of topics such as how to revitalize the tourism sector in the post-Covid-19 era and how to enhance tourism cooperation. They agreed that this event has given an impetus to China-Russia tourism cooperation and is of great significance in getting the tourism sector back on track as soon as possible and promoting economic development of both sides.
