On July 21, Yin Yong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing, met with Keiko Tashiro, Deputy President of Daiwa Securities Group at a video conference, expressing appreciation for Daiwa's support for the fight against COVID-19 in Beijing.  He noted that Beijing has been actively promoting epidemic control and the resumption of business activities at the same time. The city has introduced a series of measures to stabilize the capital market, and worked hard to improve its business environment and provide better services for overseas companies and investors. Strategic opportunities are presented by the reform and development of China's capital market, as well as Beijing's pilot program for expanding the opening-up in its service sector. It is hoped that Daiwa Securities will seize this opportunity to establish a joint venture in Beijing as soon as possible, and actively participate in the development of the China-Japan International Cooperation Industrial Park to better serve the real economy of China and Japan.

Keiko Tashiro said that with the strong support of the Beijing Municipal Government, the establishment of the JV in Beijing is progressing smoothly as its application materials have been formally accepted by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Going forward, Daiwa Securities will leverage its unique advantages in the capital market and continue to expand financial services such as stock issuance, asset management and mergers and acquisitions, helping bring the opening-up of Beijing's financial market to a higher level.

Established in December 1943, Daiwa Securities Group is the second largest securities brokerage in Japan, and is mainly engaged in integrated and international securities and related services. With an extensive global network, it provides cross-border M&A services in Europe, America, and Asia, and has an influence among the world's major financial institutions.
