On the afternoon of June 24, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Mohamed Kande, Global Chairman of PwC.

Yin noted that Beijing is fully leveraging its strengths in education, science, technology, and talent to develop new quality productive forces that best fit Beijing’s local conditions. Specifically, Beijing is working on three important fronts: unleashing the potential of the youth in innovation and creativity by better aligning scientific research with industrial needs; boosting emerging industrial clusters such as artificial intelligence and humanoid robots; and upgrading high-end, precision, and cutting-edge industries such as next-generation information technology and medical and health. These efforts aim to optimize the combination of laborers, means of labor, and subjects of labor, as well as their renewal and upgrading, ultimately creating a competitive framework for fostering new quality productive forces and accelerating the building of a modernized industrial system with Beijing’s distinctive characteristics. Yin encouraged PwC to continue serving as a bridge, leveraging its professional expertise to help global enterprises enter Beijing and support Beijing enterprises in expanding overseas. He also hoped that PwC can share best practices in global industrial development, urban governance, and other fields, contributing to Beijing’s high-quality development. Beijing will continue to expand high-standard opening up, foster a world-class business environment, continuously improve the service package and steward service mechanisms for enterprises, and create a better environment for all types of enterprises to grow in the city.

Kande spoke highly of Beijing’s achievements in scientific and technological innovation and expressed PwC’s strong commitment to the Chinese market and Beijing in particular. He added that PwC will continuously expand its local presence, build service channels for two-way investment by facilitating foreign investment into China and supporting Beijing enterprises in going global, participate in the development of industries such as artificial intelligence in Beijing, and offer insights and recommendations for Beijing’s development of new quality productive forces.
