On September 23, the 2025 Beijing Culture Forum opened in Beijing. Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, addressed the opening ceremony.

Both domestic and international guests agreed that President Xi Jinping’s proposal to seek effective mechanisms for integrating culture and technology and to enable digital and information-based cultural progress, is of great significance for promoting the integrated development of culture and technology and transforming cultural resources into drivers of cultural development. At present, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is evolving rapidly, promoting the deep integration of culture and technology. This helps drive changes in cultural content and modes of dissemination, thereby broadening and deepening cultural innovation.
The participants emphasized the importance of keeping the integrated development of culture and technology on the right track, guided by value-driven and demand-oriented principles with a long-term perspective. Technology should always serve cultural inheritance and innovation as well as people’s intellectual and cultural advancement. They called for greater use of new technologies and approaches to strengthen the capacity and quality of cultural heritage preservation and transmission, contributing to the continuation of historical traditions. They also highlighted the need to comprehensively enhance cultural creation, production, and dissemination by strengthening digital cultural infrastructure and advancing the digitalization of cultural production. Furthermore, the participants advocated for deeper exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, building more online platforms for cultural exchange and sharing to help people in China and other countries better understand and appreciate each other’s cultures, so that innovation in culture and technology can better serve humanity.
The 2025 Beijing Culture Forum, themed “Integrated Development of Culture and Technology”, is co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. More than 800 guests from 58 countries and regions attended the forum. At the main forum, Chinese and foreign participants delivered speeches on topics including “Seizing the Opportunities of AI to Better Empower the Progress of Human Civilization”, “Bridging the World through Culture”, “Proactive Transformation to Embrace Innovation”, “Digital Technology Promoting Global Cultural Heritage Protection”, and “Film Creation Across Different Cultures”.
