On the morning of July 10, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Kuok Khoon Hua, Chairman of Kerry Holdings Limited, Hong Kong.

Yin stated that in recent years, Beijing has been strengthening its position as the “four centers” implementing the latest version of its Master Plan. The city has committed great efforts to relocating functions nonessential to Beijing’s role as the capital,, accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and promoting high-quality development and high-level opening-up. In green development, Beijing has been expanding green coverage by developing “one ecological shield, five rivers, two city axes, three green rings, nine wedge-shaped green spaces, and fifteen garden city demonstration areas”. Such endeavor, along with other vigorous efforts in ecological conservation will contribute to our vision of building Beijing into a world-class, harmonious, and livable city.

Beijing is promoting Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and advancing the planning and construction of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) to high standards. The BMC, with its strategic location and well-developed transportation facilities, is witnessing new changes every year. With a focus on administrative offices, business services, cultural tourism, and sci-tech innovation, the BMC is becoming increasingly attractive year by year. Yin hoped that Kerry will seize new development opportunities in Beijing, further expand investment in the city, actively participate in the BMC’s development, share sound international practices in urban planning and construction, and create more exemplary commercial landmarks. Beijing will stay committed to deepening reforms, expanding opening-up, and improving the business environment to support the further development of enterprises of all types in the city.

Kuok highly praised Beijing’s achievements in urban development, highlighting the BMC’s unique advantages and potential. He expressed strong anticipation for potential investment opportunities and a strong commitment to expanding cooperation in various areas to foster high-quality BMC development.

Zeng Jin, Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, attended the meeting.
