On the morning of June 25, a work deployment meeting was held to discuss the preparations for the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing, presided over the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and is a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks outlined in the “14th Five-Year Plan”. To implement the decisions and plans of the Party Central Committee and serve the overall work of the Party and the country, we should ensure the success of the 2024 CIFTIS, making it a vivid practice in pursuing high-standard opening up, cultivating new quality productive forces, and creating a new pattern of development. Greater efforts will be made to deliver a fruitful, higher-standard CIFTIS with distinctive features.
The meeting emphasized that departments and units at all levels should strive for excellence to make the CIFTIS an important window for China’s opening-up. It stressed the need to expedite preparations for major activities, especially in terms of inviting key guests and ensuring good services for their attendance and protocol affairs. Delivering higher-quality services is crucial to providing a more comfortable and convenient experience for both domestic and foreign participants. Emphasis should be placed on producing practical results to establish a global cooperation platform. This includes providing comprehensive and whole-process services to meet the demands of enterprises, enhancing the trading capabilities of CIFTIS, and strengthening investment promotion to attract more foreign investors to Beijing. Moreover, it is important to expand spillover effects of CIFTIS, stimulating economic growth through exhibitions.
