On the afternoon of May 13, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Helen Brand, Chief Executive of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Yin said that Beijing hosts the central financial regulators as well as important national financial infrastructure, financial industry associations, and headquarters of financial institutions. The financial sector serves as the pillar of the city. In recent years, by leveraging the “two zones” development, Beijing has been aligning with high-standard international trade rules. The city has made steady progress in high-standard opening-up with a focus on institutional opening-up, and introduced a series of ground-breaking policies. We hope that ACCA will harness its strengths and support the high-quality growth of Beijing’s financial sector by deepening its cooperation with the city in areas ranging from talent cultivation and professional event organization to digital economy measurement and green financial standards. We will continue to foster a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, accessible, and up to international standards, upgrade our services for professionals and financial institutions, and share the opportunities presented by Beijing’s high-quality development and high-standard opening-up.
Brand spoke highly of Beijing’s business environment and expressed ACCA’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in such areas as financial talent training, professional education, and corporate services, with a view to drawing more international members, companies, and financial institutions to develop in Beijing.
