On March 26, Vice President Han Zheng attended and addressed the first signature event of the "Invest in China Summit" in Beijing.
He stated that President Xi Jinping has attached great importance to foreign investment, stressing the need to expand high-level opening-up and to exert more efforts in attracting and utilizing foreign capital on multiple occasions. This is to ensure that development opportunities are shared with the rest of the world and to make economic globalization more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial for all.
He pointed out that China, as the world's second-largest economy, has established sound and solid fundamentals through its long-term development, and continues to be the primary driver of global growth. We will prudently steer China's economy forward and share the benefits with companies worldwide. China's continuously expanding market potential will create more opportunities for foreign enterprises, while its increasingly robust industrial system will serve as a reliable pillar for a stable global economy. Additionally, the improving business environment will provide better support for foreign ventures. China remains committed to sharing opportunities and pursuing common development with companies from across the world, thereby driving the development of an open global economy.
He added that forging the "Invest in China" brand is not only a crucial step for China to enhance high-level opening-up and integrate into the international economic flow, but also a concrete effort to propel economic globalization and ensure stable and open global industrial and supply chains. We sincerely invite more friends from the global business community to invest and start businesses in China, as investing in China is investing in the future.
Over 140 entrepreneurs from 17 countries and regions, along with representatives from foreign chambers of commerce and associations in China, participated in the event. Prior to the event, Han met with representatives from several multinational corporations and foreign chambers of commerce and associations. He acknowledged their longstanding commitment to the Chinese market, their contribution to the country's reform and opening-up, and their involvement in China's economic growth. He said that China will remain committed to opening up at a higher level and will continue to foster a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and up to international standards, thus providing better conditions for global companies to flourish in China.
Yin Li, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended and addressed the event.
