On the morning of September 26, Yin Li, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, met with Thomas J. Pritzker, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Chairman of The Hyatt Foundation.
Yin said Beijing is an ancient capital with a history of thousands of years, where modern civilization and ancient cityscape are intertwined. It boasts strong consumer demand from domestic and foreign visitors. As Beijing pursues high-quality development as a super-large city, it continues to deepen reform and expand opening-up, resulting in a greater flow of people, goods, capital, and information. The philosophy of urban development and citizens' lifestyles have undergone profound changes. China's development and Beijing's advantages will create a wide space for deeper cooperation with Hyatt, a pacesetter in the global hospitality industry. He hoped that Hyatt will fully utilize the opportunities of the super-sized market in China and Beijing, and leverage the advantages of the Hyatt Foundation to further expand its investment and presence in Beijing, thus making greater strides while better meeting the diversified needs of consumers. It is also expected that Hyatt can continue to be a catalyst for better China-US relations, deeper trade exchanges, and mutually beneficial cooperation. Beijing will create a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized, as well as create better conditions for Hyatt's development.
Pritzker expressed a deep appreciation for the great advantages and potential of the market in Beijing and China at large, which further strengthened Hyatt's confidence to grow in China. Hyatt will give full play to its advantages, continue to expand its business footprint in Beijing, and intensify cooperation with Chinese companies, so as to better contribute to the bilateral trade and people-to-people exchanges.
Municipal leaders Xia Linmao and Zhao Lei attended the meeting.
