On September 21, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Rahim Amidi, Co-Founder at Plug and Play, and Chairman at Plug and Play China.
Yin said that as the world's second-largest economy, China boasts a huge market with immense potential, and the fundamentals sustaining its long-term economic growth remain unchanged. In recent years, Beijing has accelerated its effort in building an international innovation center, as evidenced by the clustering of technology innovation firms, a vibrant atmosphere for innovation, and a stronger impetus and vitality for development. It is hoped that Plug and Play, a world-renowned platform for sci-tech innovation, will capitalize on its strengths and continue to join Beijing's efforts to become an international innovation center. Greater cooperation in fields such as investment and financing, automobiles, and new energy is welcome as this will help Beijing's enterprises reach out to the international market and integrate into the global innovation network. Beijing will continue to improve the business environment, implement the “service package” and “service steward” arrangements, better serve the portfolio companies, and help innovators and platforms of all kinds to thrive in Beijing.
Amidi praised China's socio-economic success since the launch of reform and opening-up, adding that Plug and Play highly values the market opportunities brought by sci-tech innovation. It is willing to further expand its investment and presence in Beijing, serve as a platform that helps more Beijing companies to go global while attracting international enterprises, and promote international exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Mu Peng, Secretary General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, attended the meeting.
