On September 5, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar Properties of the UAE, who came to Beijing to attend the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services.

Yin said that as one of the first cities in China to build an international consumption center, Beijing is making constant effort to improve its high-end and high-quality commercial facilities, renovate and upgrade traditional business districts, and develop new forms and models of consumption. These efforts are aimed at unleashing the potential of consumption, satisfying the growing demand for internationalized and high-quality consumption, and creating consumption landmarks with international influence. Emaar, a globally renowned company, has played a significant role in the development of Dubai. It is welcome to further expand its investment and presence in Beijing, take an active part in Beijing's efforts to become an international consumption center, and continue to contribute to the relationship and trade and economic exchanges between China and the UAE. Beijing will keep improving its business environment and provide quality services for enterprises of all kinds to invest and do business in the city.

Alabbar spoke highly of Beijing's development and management as a megacity.  Optimistic about the Chinese market, he said that Emaar stands ready to deepen cooperation with Beijing in areas such as infrastructure, convention and exhibition, and commercial projects to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

Mu Peng, Secretary General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, attended the meeting.
