Yin said China is Varian's largest overseas market, while Beijing serves as its R&D and production base with more product categories than any other bases in the world. The cooperation between Varian and Beijing has yielded fruitful results. Beijing has rich sci-tech innovation resources, a huge medical service market, and a sound pharmaceutical production system. It is hoped that Varian will continue to expand its investment and business presence in Beijing and promote mutually beneficial cooperation by capitalizing on Beijing's industrial and talent strengths, as well as its high-level opening-up policies. Yin encouraged Varian to further develop the Varian Global Innovation Center in Beijing, interact and work with research institutes and technology firms in Beijing, and realize stronger growth by actively engaging in the innovation-driven development of Beijing's pharmaceutical and health industry. Varian is also encouraged to leverage its technological strengths and play a greater role in introducing global innovation resources and enhancing Chinese-foreign sci-tech exchanges and cooperation; and further coordinate the links in the supply chain and industrial chain, such as technology R&D, result incubation, mass production, and clinical application, to attract more upstream and downstream companies to settle in Beijing and its neighboring areas. Beijing will continue to foster a world-class, market-oriented business environment governed by a sound legal framework to better serve Varian's development in Beijing.

Confident in the Chinese market, Kaindl said Varian will remain committed to China and increase its investment in Beijing. Varian will ramp up its manufacturing and R&D capacities in Beijing by tapping into the city's innovation resources. The company will intensify cooperation with China's scientific research and healthcare institutions to jointly improve full-cycle cancer management and care, with a view to realizing its vision of a world without fear of cancer.

Municipal leaders Xia Linmao, Jin Wei, and Zhao Lei attended the meeting.
