On September 15, Carolina Cerqueira, President of the National Assembly of Angola and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), met with Yin Li, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, in Luanda.
Yin stated that China and Angola have forged an everlasting friendship. Earlier this year, President Xi Jinping and President João Lourenço exchanged congratulatory messages on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, setting the course for the growth of the China-Angola strategic partnership. China supports Angola in pursuing a development path suited to its own national conditions, and is ready to work with Angola to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the two peoples. The CPC is willing to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two parties as an opportunity to facilitate the state-to-state relations through more strategic communication with the MPLA on experiences in national governance. To implement the consensus of the two heads of state, Beijing will promote exchanges and cooperation between the two capitals to inject new impetus into China-Angola cooperation.
Cerqueira emphasized that Angola regards China as an important strategic partner. She expressed gratitude for China's support of Angola's national independence and development, admired China's historic achievements, and expressed willingness to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries in various fields, so as to promote the sustainable development of the Angola-China strategic partnership.
At the invitation of the MPLA, Yin led a CPC delegation to visit Angola from September 15 to 17. He met with Luísa Damião, Vice President of MPLA; Manuel Augusto, Secretary for Foreign Relations of MPLA; and Perreira, the acting secretary of the Luanda Provincial Committee of MPLA, held a seminar with the primary-level organizations of MPLA, and attended events such as the "Hello, Beijing" Photography Exhibition and the Chinese Cuisine Culture Festival.
