According to the plan, the project will cover an area of about 1.1 hectares, where cultural facilities will be built to serve for Beijing Design Week.

At the opening ceremony of Beijing Design Week 2020 on September 21, it was announced that Zhangjiawan Design Town would be home to the permanent venue of the event and relevant design plans were released.

It is learnt that the permanent venue for Beijing Design Week, also its main venue, will host conferences, forums and exhibitions and serve as a place for transactions and commercial services. Through the flagship events of Beijing Design Week, the permanent venue will strive to be a “world design center” where the latest information is released, cultural activities are held, and exhibitions and transactions take place in addition to the function as office space. It will also accommodate China Design Museum. By bringing together global resources, Beijing Design Week is set to help build Zhangjiawan Design Town into a well-known cultural and creative zone.
