Approved by the State Council, 2020 ZGC Forum will be held from September 17 to 20 in Beijing, announced the ZGC Forum Organizing Committee Office on September 2. The forum will cover a range of topics such as the application of technology in the battle against COVID-19 and international innovation cooperation and feature more than 50 activities in four categories, namely conferences, exhibitions, transactions, and release events. The forum will be live streamed throughout the process, allowing the general public to participate in the grand sci-tech event online.
Revolving around the theme of “Meet Challenge with Cooperation & Innovation”, 2020 ZGC Forum will focus on citizen welfare amid the global pandemic and delve into various topics such as the use of science and technology in the fight against COVID-19, international innovation cooperation and the frontier of science and technology. This year's event will adopt an innovative framework combining conferences, exhibitions, transactions, and release events, with one opening ceremony, three innovation sessions, 21 parallel sessions, two professional sessions, one sci-tech achievement exhibition, releases of major achievements, and technology trading activities.
Focusing on the frontier of science and technology, the forum will choose global hot topics that fit its position as a national specialized and forward-looking platform and at the same time reflect Beijing's characteristics and strengths in science and technology, thus leading the trends of scientific and technological innovation.
At the opening ceremony, top-notch scientists and well-known entrepreneurs will exchange ideas on “citizen welfare amid COVID-19” and share their insights on how to strengthen international technological exchanges and cooperation.
A number of parallel sessions will be held. Specifically, the Global Science and Life Health Forum will focus on the topic of “Technology R&D and Pandemic Prevention and Control” and provide a platform for experience sharing and academic exchanges on anti-COVID-19 practices and technology R&D among participants from different countries. The High-Level Workshop of International Research Institutions will discuss the global trends of scientific and technological innovation. The China-Russia Science and Technology Innovation Forum, China-Europe Talent Forum, and Sino-Nordic Sustainable Development & Innovation Forum will promote regional and international exchanges and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation.
ZGC Forum, inaugurated in 2007, is positioned to serve the national innovation-driven development strategy and the building of the National Science and Technology Innovation Center. It serves as an international platform for scientific and technological innovation, exchange and cooperation that integrates the display, release, and trading of innovative technology.
