On the Conference with the theme of “Fighting Against Global Disease Threats with Shared Anti-Epidemic Experience and Practices”, Beijing Municipal Health Commission, International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of China's National Health Commission, representative offices of WHO, UNAIDS and UNFPA in China, and Embassy of the Republic of Serbia jointly issued the Beijing Initiative with the same theme. Beijing Initiative calls on all parties concerned, on the basis of the principles of openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and respect, mutual benefits for a win-win situation, and equality and transparency, to jointly fight against global disease threats by sharing their experience and practices in epidemic prevention and control and to promote worldwide cooperation for safeguarding global public health.

“Public health is vital for all people's health and safety, and is closely related to economic and social development. We can beat the virus only by sharing experience and pooling resources worldwide. Thus, it is particularly important for us to promote global cooperation on public health. I believe that through concerted effort, we can definitely contribute our wisdom and energy to building a community of health for all,” said Chen Bei, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
