On the beautiful banks of Jinhai Lake in Pinggu District stands Jinhai Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center. With work on the building façade about to complete, people will soon have a chance to find out what the main venue for the 2020 World Leisure Congress might look like.

The center has a gross floor area of about 65,000 square meters, with 37,000 square meters above ground and 28,000 square meters underground. It includes exhibition halls, multifunction rooms, press conference rooms, conference rooms, lecture halls and other supporting facilities. After the construction is completed, it will serve as the main venue for the 2020 World Leisure Congress and the World Leisure Industry Expo. In the medium and long term, it will provide space for Beijing to host important conferences and exhibitions, cultural exchange activities, and support the development of Jinhai Lake Town for Tourism and Leisure.

The 2020 World Leisure Congress is scheduled to take place in October 2020. The work on the Jinhai Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center has entered the final stage. The focus in the next step will be on debugging of electromechanical equipment and interior furnishing.
