On the morning of March 14, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee held the Foreign Affairs Work Conference. All districts and departments in Beijing studied and implemented the guiding principles outlined during the conference to promote the high-quality development of the capital’s work related to foreign affairs, with a focus on improving Beijing’s role as a center for international exchanges to a higher level.

On March 18, Pinggu District studied the guiding principles of the Conference. Tang Zhaohui, Deputy Mayor of Pinggu District, conveyed the guiding principles, and Di Tao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Pinggu District Committee and District Mayor, delivered a speech.

During the meeting, the importance of studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Foreign Affairs Work Conference was emphasized. We should bear in mind the success and experience of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era, understand the international landscape and historical mission of foreign affairs work on the new journey, and adhere to the strategic arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee on foreign affairs work. With a focus on supporting the undertakings of the Party and the country, and serving the development of Beijing in the new era, we should promote the high-quality development of the capital’s work related to foreign affairs. Pinggu District should take greater initiative in foreign affairs work, with an focus on attracting high-end global resources and promoting the internationalization of key industries such as high-tech agriculture, high-capacity logistics, and new forms of entertainment. Through open cooperation, the district will enjoy greater connectivity with the world and play a bigger role in supporting international exchanges. The role of work on foreign affairs should be extended to encompass more responsibilities, especially in coordinating efforts to expand global presence and attract international resources. We should leverage the role of foreign affairs as a channel to create more opportunities for external exchanges, promote Pinggu’s competitive industries, and tell the district’s story well through pragmatic cooperation.
