On April 12, 2022, the plenary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Mentougou District Committee and the first plenary meeting of Working Group for Improving Mentougou District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges was held. During the meeting, attendees listened to the report on the work of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Jin Hui, Secretary of the CPC Mentougou District Committee, presided over the meeting and made remarks.

The meeting called on the Working Group to improve Mentougou District's role in building the center for international exchanges in regards to the top-level design, institutional planning and regular coordination, and see that departments responsible for decision-making and coordination assume their responsibilities, working mechanisms are further refined and tasks are completed with high standards.

The meeting called for making high-quality plans for the district's foreign-related work by focusing on improving Mentougou District's role in building the center for international exchanges. The district should better position itself in the external work, and adopt a dynamic approach to sort out resources within the district for hosting foreign exchange activities with emphasis given to green and old industrial spaces. Foreign-related accommodation capacity should be built up in the "two temples and three mountains" tourist attractions (Tanzhe Temple, Jietai Temple, Mount Baihua, Mount Ling and Mount Miaofeng), historic villages, and boutique guesthouses. Branded events like the Beijing International Mountain Walking Festival will be launched.

The meeting stressed that the district should advance openness and cooperation, continue to implement foreign-related Covid-19 containment measures, step up efforts to attract international elements and better allocate resources, and make coordination with high standards. The Foreign Affairs Office of Mentougou District should leverage its professional advantages to fulfill each task. All departments should provide better training for professionals, keep firmly in mind the importance of concentrated efforts, step up to their responsibilities, and work closely with each other to enforce the requirements of the central government, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the CPC Mentougou District Committee.

At the meeting, several documents were reviewed and approved, including the 2022 Work Plan for the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Mentougou District Committee and the Working Group for Improving Mentougou District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges, the Guidelines on the Establishment of the Working Group for Improving Mentougou District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges, the Working Rules of the Working Group for Improving Mentougou District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges, the Working Instructions for the Working Group for Improving Mentougou District's Role in Building the Center for International Exchanges, the Report on the Work of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Mentougou District Committee 2021.
